At Two Fellas Media, we are always pushing ourselves towards greatness. We are all passionate about developing our individual skills and team skills. Each team member has a specialised area of expertise, but that doesn't mean we're ever boxed into one job. We are always expanding our skillset, our mindset and we are up for (almost) anything!
That being said, each team member excels within their niche. We believe that shared knowledge is power, and because of this, the Expert Secrets Series was born. Here, our team members share their top tips to level up your game within their niche. From social media marketing to copywriting, from graphic design to videography, and from winning at a Two Fellas Media internship to running a successful team - we'll cover everything.
So get out your favourite pen and some paper, and get ready to learn from the best of the best!
Read on for Sagy's (one of the co-founders of Two Fellas Media) tips on managing a successful team.
1. No "sorry" allowed.⠀
Mistakes are always going to happen, and they make for some of the best learning experiences. So push yourself to find a proactive way to fix things and move on, even if you have made a mistake.
2. Take Extreme Ownership - over everything. ⠀
In the words of Jocko Willink & Leif Babin, "Once people stop making excuses, stop blaming others, and take ownership of everything in their lives, they are compelled to take action to solve their problems." Taking Extreme Ownership is one of the best ways to level up your life.´
3. Stretch.⠀
Stretch your ideas, stretch yourself, stretch your team-mates, stretch your body. You don't know the potential you have to make things happen until you stretch yourself further than you thought you could go. Also, make sure that you and your team take regular stretching breaks.⠀
4. Always be feeding your mind.⠀
Regardless of if you are listening to an audiobook or tuning into a podcast on your way to work, doing an extra course in the evenings, or reading a few chapters before bed - constantly stimulate your mind with fresh ideas, and keep learning new things.
5. Compete with yourself.⠀
If you compete with someone else, the benchmark you set will always be dependent on that other person. When you compete with yourself and strive to be better than you last were, you will always be improving.⠀
